Thought for the Day

"Oh, it is wonderful to know that our Heavenly Father loves us - even with all our flaws! His love is such that even should we give up on ourselves, He never will. We see ourselves in terms of yesterday and today. Our Heavenly Father sees us in terms of forever. Although we might settle for less, Heavenly Father won't, for He sees us as the glorious beings we are capable of becoming."

Am I Ready?

Am I ready for another "No Daddy Party"?! It's a little thing the kids and I do when Daddy goes out of town. It started years ago when he would go camping with the Young Men and it has now become our little tradition. Well, Bret is going camping again - yes, AGAIN.
During "No Daddy Party" I pull their mattresses out into the living room and we have fun eating junk food and watching movies. They sleep in the living room and can stay up late if they want. I used to sleep on the couch in the living room too, but lately the body is very weak and achy the next day. So now I enjoy the night ALL ALONE on my bed (now THAT is heaven to me). :)
I really do enjoy the No Daddy Parties that we have. It takes a lot of stress off me with not having to cook real meals or keep the house super clean. So, bring it on!

On another note, my biggest little turned 9 today! Am I really THAT old?! Yeah, and so are the rest of you. :P She has been pointing out all the things she wants for her B-Day for the last week and telling everyone we know how many days left till her B-Day for 20 days. Now its here! We had church bright and early (8am) and today being Fast Sunday, we have held off on the main events until this evening. I've got a broach that says "Today is my Birthday!" for her to wear today. Then Elizabeth and I are going to make her favorite cake and we got her favorite Ice Cream. She has decided that she wants a treasure hunt to find her gifts. She's such a sweet girl! I'm so lucky to be her mom!

Well, I'll be going now - I also have to find recipes with limes. I got about 500 in my veggie co-op yesterday! :) Any ideas?!

I wonder if that veggie co-op is actually worth it? I got 50 ear of corn for $20 - really - ? what a bargain, eh?

And Happy birthday to Elizabeth!

I hate when Ross goes on camping trips, too - in fact, I'm so glad he's not in the scouts in our new ward! He always managed to have an overnight camp on someone's birthday - grrrrr!

I wish I HAD gotten corn - we love corn! There really is only so much you can do with limes. I have been putting it in my Pepsi! :)
