Thought for the Day

"Oh, it is wonderful to know that our Heavenly Father loves us - even with all our flaws! His love is such that even should we give up on ourselves, He never will. We see ourselves in terms of yesterday and today. Our Heavenly Father sees us in terms of forever. Although we might settle for less, Heavenly Father won't, for He sees us as the glorious beings we are capable of becoming."

Help?!

Well, I've been hesitant to post this, but I need some ideas. I know there is a wealth of experience and knowledge amoung my friends and loved ones! :)
Did I butter you up enough? LOL

Here is my dilema:
Elijah is struggling at school. He has a real hard time focusing and not paying attention. He doesn't hear/listen well and misses important information and instructions. It was manageable before, but this year it seems worse. We've cut WAY back on TV and video games during the week. I've been trying some focusing exercises at home. But it doesn't seem to be working (yet).
I love his teacher! He had Elizabeth last year. :) He's willing to work with us, but we are all at a lose for what to do to help Eli.

So if any of you have ANY ideas, please email me!!

On another side note:
Mom's & Dad's - I have gotten my testing done. I have been resting (took a nap yesterday). :) And I see the Dr. next Wednesday for a follow up. I'm doing fine! LOL

Well, I have been watching Rachel Ray and I'm hungry so now I'm going to go find something to eat!! :)
Hugs to you all!

My prayers are with you. I have no advice (you're my advice giver) but I can understand your frustration. I just spent one hour asking L what he did in school today and he seriously can't remember. I'd love to hear any advice you receive. It'll probably come in handy on many levels.

Has he been tested for ADD? My little guy has the same problem and really struggles in school. He's got ADD and ugh.. it's hard! I hope you get things figured out soon. Poor little guy.. how old is he?

I've read you have been having health problems.. what's going on? If you need anything don't hesitate to ask :) (lol.. even though we live far away and you don't know me) I'd be willing to do what I can

try giving him caffine - it has the opposite effect on kids as it does on adults and may slow his brain down enough to help him pay better attention. we did this w/ #1 child. We also got him some meth pills - like ritalin - which were good for him to take a few days in a row - so he can "see" patterns in his school day - like when they read and stuff like that. He didn't enjoy the effects of the meth on his body - so he'd only take it for a few days to get a general idea of scheduling and rules at the class...then he'd be good for a few weeks.

Hi Steph,
For me, I need to sit in front of the classroom. If I see movement or other kids doing things, I'd watch them instead. I always tell my kids, up front is best!!
Good luck!
I hope you are doing well, you're in my prayers.
Love ya!!!

You mentioned he doesn't hear/listen well. Have you had his hearing tested?

I love you and miss you! I understand your pain and think that you will know what is right for you and your child. You will know when the time is right to medicate or not. A mother's intuition.
